NABJ-SU presents Breaking Into Journalism” with Michael Feeney, Reporter for the New York Daily News

SYRACUSE, NY (April 7, 2011, 2011) – The National Association of Black Journalists, Syracuse University chapter will host Michael Feeney, New York Daily News reporter on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in Room 141 in Newhouse 3. Michael Feeney is NABJ’s 2010 ‘Emerging Journalist of the Year’ award recipient.

Feeney will discuss how to best prepare yourself for landing your first communications job out of college. He will provide tips on how to get the most out of your college experience, the importance of networking, and professional communications organizations. He will also address the importance of branding yourself, and how social networking skills can be helpful in today’s highly competitive field.

Feeney is only 27-years-old and is already an experienced, professional journalist. He has interviewed the likes of rapper J.Cole, rapper Jim Jones, Carmine Gotti, Diggy Simmons, and the list of emerging artists goes on.

A graduate of Delaware State University and member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Feeney has been a member of NABJ since 2001.
